February 23, 2017 2:03 pmFebruary 21, 2017: Father Brendan McGlynn (Fr. Nivard of Bamenda) was born in 1930 in Glasgow (Great Britain). After joining the Franciscans for a number of years, he joined the Cistercian Abbey of Mount St Bernard in 1952, made his solemn profession in 1957 and was ordained a priest in 1959. He was later sent on the new foundation in Bamenda, Cameroon, in the ‘60s. He came back to Great Britain in 2008 for health reasons and changed his stability to Nunraw. At that time he also changed back to his baptismal name of Brendan. Father was 86 years old, had been in monastic vows for 62 years and 57 years a priest when the Lord called him.
