Imari

Mother Catharina Shibuya, Abbess of Imari (diocese of Fukuoka – Japan) since 2004, having reached the age of retirement mentioned in ST 40.A of the Constitutions, presented her resignation to the General Chapter 2017. The General Chapter accepted the resignation which became effective on December 31, 2017.

On February 17, 2018, Dom Roberto de la Iglesia Pérez, Abbot of Cardeña and Father Immediate of Imari, appointed Sister Marie Raphaela Kuboki Youko, as Superior ad nutum of Imari.
Mother Marie Raphaela was born in Fukushima (Japan) in 1961, entered Imari in 2007 and made solemn profession in 2012. At the time of her appointment, Mother Marie Raphaela was the Cellerar of the Community.
