Further precisions on the situation of the former Abbot of Mt. St. Bernard Abbey

“The Very Reverend Father Erik Varden, newly elected Bishop Prelate of Trondheim, for reasons of health, and following the directions of his doctors, needs to take a period of rest.  The Holy Father, taking this and the medical recommendations into account, has decided to suspend the Episcopal consecration for now.  He grants Father Varden a period of rest for several months, awaiting a hoped-for recovery.”
