La Oliva

July 28, 2020: Dom Isaac Totorica Izaguirre was born in 1961 in Ermua (Biscay, Spain). He entered La Oliva in 1993. He was sent to Zenarruza in 1994, made his solemn profession in 1998 and was ordained a priest in 2007. He was elected Titular Prior of Zenarruza in 2009 and Abbot of La Oliva in December of the same year, a charge he held until his death.
He died of a very fast and aggressive form of sarcomatoid kidney cancer, the first symptoms of which showed only a couple of months before.
Dom Isaac was 59 years old, had been in monastic vows for 25 years, and was 12 years a priest when the Lord called him.
