Echt

August 07, 2021: Father Chris Thewissen was born in 1942 in Wittem (The Netherlands). He entered Echt in 1969, was ordained a priest in 1972 and made his solemn profession in 1975. He was Abbot of the Community from 1980 until 2008. At the time of his death he served as a chaplain at the Sisters of Donnersberg (Germany). Father was 79 years old, had been in monastic vows for 49 years and 49 years a priest when the Lord called him.
