Schiermonnikoog

October 9, 2021: Dom Romero Hakvoort was born in 1943 in Drempt (Nertherlands). He was a diocesan priest before entering Diepenveen in 1982. In 1987 he made his solemn profession. In 1992 he became superior ad nutum and he was abbot from 1993 to 1999. Since 2015, he lived in Westmalle, while Diepenveen moved to Schiermonnikoog. He waited for an opportunity to join the brothers on Schiermonnikoog, but first Covid and then his declining health prevented him from doing so. Father was 77 years old, had been in monastic vows for 37 years and 49 years a priest when the Lord called him.
