LET IT BE KNOWN

On 20 January 2022, the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life decreed (Prot. n. 6423/2022) that the Abbaye Notre-Dame du Bon Conseil of the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance has been suppressed.

The request for the suppression was presented by the Abbot General with the consent of his Council on 23 September 2021. The decree was signed 20 January 2022 and published 28 February 2022.

The Stability of the Nuns of the Abbaye Notre-Dame du Bon Conseil has been transferred to the founding Community of Abbaye of Notre-Dame de Bonneval at Cayrol in the diocese of Rodez, France. The situations of the property and all other aspects essential for the suppression of a Community have been arranged following the Constitutions and Canon Law.
