New Melleray / Ava

December 11, 2022 Brother Francis Flaherty was born in 1940 in California (USA). He entered the Augustinians in 1958 and transferred to New Clairvaux Abbey, Vina, in 1970 and made his solemn profession in 1973. In 2002, he transferred to Assumption Abbey, Ava. After the closure of the Ava monastery in 2017, he changed his stability to New Melleray. He died at Assumption Abbey, Ava Missouri. Brother was 82 years old and had been in monastic vows for 49 years when the Lord called him.
