Jarabacoa

December 08, 2023: Dom José María De Prada Mendoza was born in 1936 in Talavera de la Reina, Toledo (Spain). He entered Viaceli in 1960, made his solemn profession in 1965 and was ordained a priest in 1970.
He was Councillor of the Abbot General Dom Ambrose from 1980 to 1983, then Abbot of Viaceli from 1983 to 1989. In 1992, he arrived in Jarabacoa, the foundation of Viaceli in Dominican Republic, where he made his new stability in 2006.
He was 87 years old, had been in monastic vows for 61 years and 53 years a priest when the Lord called him.
