Bethlehem

On 18 January 2024, Mother Brigitte Pinot Prioress of Tautra Mariakloster and acting as Father Immediate of Our Lady of Bethlehem (Diocese of Down and Connor, Northern Ireland), appointed Father Aelred Magee, Superior ad nutum of the community of Bethlehem. This appointment became effective on the Solemnity of the Founders of Cîteaux, 26 January 2024.

Dom Aelred was born in 1967 in Belfast (Northern Ireland). He entered Bethlehem in 2005, made his Solemn Profession in 2010 and was ordained a priest in 1993. At the time of his appointment, he was Sub Prior and Vocation Promotor of the community.

With this appointment there comes an end to 47 years of service as superior of Dom Celsus Kelly. We are grateful for all he has done at the service of the Order and his community of Bethlehem.
