Kopua

November 12, 2025: Father Maxime Palmer was born in 1934 in Caherciveen, Co.Kerry, Ireland. He entered Mt. St. Joseph Abbey, Roscrea in 1952, made solemn profession in 1957 and ordained priest in 1959, then transferred to Kopua in 1999. He was the last of all of the Irish monks, who in 1954 founded both Tarrawarra Abbey in Australia and Southern Star (Kopua) Abbey in New Zealand. Father was 91 years old, had been in monastic vows for 71 years and 66 years a priest when the Lord called him.
