Scourmont / Bellefontaine

January 22, 2026, Father Gérard Joyau was born in 1949 in Sainte Florence de l’Oie, France. He entered Bellefontaine in 1973, made solemn profession in 1979, and was ordained in 1983. In 2019 he changed stability to Scourmont, and among other things, he was the editor-in-chief of Collectanea Cisterciensia. Father was 76 years old had 50 years of monastic profession and had been a priest for 42 years when the Lord called him.
