Origins
Foundation by Stapehill in 1932; erection as an abbey in 1934.
History
The convent and property was acquired by Mount Melleray and given to the nuns. The church was also constructed by Mount Melleray.
1949 Foundation of Mount St Mary’s Abbey, Wrentham. Several Americans came to make their novitiate at Glencairn and left for Wrentham with a group of older sisters.
1955 The founders of Wrentham returned to Glencairn and made their stability by indult.
