On August 25, 2020, the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (CIVCSVA) appointed Dom Roberto de la Iglesia Pérez, Abbot of the San Pedro de Cardeña (Spain) Abbey as Apostolical Commissary of the Santa María de Viaceli Abbey, Spain.

As Apostolical Commissary, Dom Roberto has the full governing powers for the Community of Viaceli.
