Port-du-Salut
March 1, 2021 1:17 pmFebruary 28, 2021: Father Joseph Deschamps was born in 1938 in Ecaussinnes (Belgium). He was a priest of The Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers) before entering Port-du-Salut in 1996. He had been ordained a priest in 1963 and made his solemn profession in 2000. He was Superior ad nutum in 2003 and Abbot of the Community from 2006 to 2018. Father was 82 years old, had been in monastic vows for 23 years and 57 years a priest when the Lord called him.
