Awhum

On March 1, 2022, the Abbot of Gethsemani (USA), Dom Elias Dietz having received the delegation from the Father Immediate of Awhum Dom Gerard D’Souza accompanied by Dom John Bosco Kamali, Abbot of Victoria (Uganda) conducted the Regular Visitation at Awhum (Nigeria). At the end of the Visitation, with the approval of Dom Gerard, Father Kevin Onyima was appointed Superior ad nutum.

Dom Kevin was born in 1965 in Ihiala (Nigeria). He entered Awhum in 1996, made his solemn profession in 2003 and was ordained a priest in 2020. At the time of his appointment, Father Kevin was Second Superior of the Community.
