New Melleray

December 04, 2022: Father David Wechter was born in 1930 in Buffalo, New York (USA). He entered New Melleray in 1951, made his solemn profession in 1956 and was ordained a priest in 1956. He was Abbot of the Community from 1967 until 1976. Father was 92 years old, had been in monastic vows for 69 years and 66 years a priest when the Lord called him.
