Origins
Founded by Spencer in 1956; raised to the rank of abbey 1969.
History
The property is located in the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 2,400 metres. It consists of a broad plain surrounded by mountains.
1956: The first group of founders is sent and began construction of the monastery.
1960: The General Chapter authorizes its canonical erection, but this did not take place until 5 November 1969.
1995 – Construction of a new retreat center including a main building and eight hermitages.
2000 – Construction of a new wing on the main monastery for an infirmary, chapter room and library extension.
